Exciting but small weekend at hyderabad

The beautiful Birla Mandir with the view of clear Hussain Sagar lake with the Budha statue at its center; the necklace road; charminar- the phony, photogenic beauty; bangles shopping for bangles that i am sure not to wear; Racing at 30 km speed at go-carting @Runway 9 :), shooting, archery, skating, rock-climbing; A late night drive to my friends place; Chat of old times and recent pasts, making a recollection of the times spent together and missed with my best buddy (alias a sleepless night); a superb and tasty breakfast at Baristas; shopping at central; watching cute frederer win the australian open while waiting for the 2 hour delayed train; THE LONGEST journey in the "SUPER FAST" express*!! ; getting caught red-handed with my dad for being in hyderabad when he went to my home at Bangalore :) ....
Bottom line - Hyderabad was just another Hot and Sweet Tomato sauce to me!!!

P.S: *The train which should have departed Hyd at 15:40 hours on Sunday arrived Hyd at 18:30 hours and waited for all the trains like Rajdhani express, bangalore express to leave and clear the track. So technically it left hyd at 20:00 hours!!!
It was probably travelling at 20 kms speed (note: slower than my rate at go-carting) and called itself the "Gorakhpur-Bangalore SUPER FAST EXPRESS"!!!!

A trek to the peaks of Savan Durga

Jan 21st, 2007. The day of probably my first and last trek!!

Hard rocks, scorching sun, thriving cacti, brown, brown and brown everywhere, white arrow marks, crawls out of fear, pants for breathe, sore feet without socks, no sun tans only sun BURNS, a rare love with a rock that gives you shadow, a most-welcomed kulfi, a view of the city, greed to find some blue and green (water and trees), realisation of the importance of saving drinking water!! That's savan durga in short for you.

3 bikes, 6 fun-lovers, set out on a long awaited trek trip!!

Red colour masala dosas for friends, liquid dhal rice in the name of pongal, sweet sambar (ever heard of it? I had it. So believe it!) safe and best choice of idli and vada.

5 bucks/head for a lousy lou.

beautiful native dance for the gods in a local temple. tempting folklore music.

White mark guides without which you seem lost.

A couple of monkeys jumping around to get the most adventurous trek(sanThu and bugs), a couple of buddas(sow and dhoom 2*) finding match in their lethargies.. one pitiable boy(roki) stuck with pessimistic me :D

My love with a lonely rock that gave some shade. !!

The little green you could find was a pricking cacti here and there.

Water was heaven!!!

After about 3 or more hours of the so called trekking we reached the top!! to find a lone nandi sitting in a shade. The haven for almost an hour.
I lay down by the side of nandi and hugged it tight :)

Pleasant breeze, kulfi FEAST, jokes and laughters, jabberings of the non-stop jabbers - NOTHING can compare the moment of BLISS!!

Photos. Poses. Modelling?? Nope. Just memories :)

The way down was one of fun. We were singing group songs for motivation.

"WHo let the BUGS out?? ohh ooohh"

"aelaelo ayilasaaa"

temporary speed breaker (thanks to sanTHU) to stop my unstoppable jog down the hill :)

2 straws - 2 tender coconuts - one mouth (mine) at once!! (not the one coconut-2 straws-2 mouths of tamil cinemas)

the most rocky roads on a bumper less bike with roki whose only thought in mind was to get home b4 he fell asleep on the road!!!

*bike racing by dhoom 2(phani) at 30 km speed on a 2-month old black pulsar :) just kidding da..

4-5 acres wide 300 yr old Big banyan tree.

tasty cucumber to fill the temporary HUNGER

free sights of romances of lover boys in the park ;)

a 50 km drive on the most horrid wreckless roadless roads to speed on the 10 km stretch of beautiful Mysore Road!!!

A journey that cant be stopped by none - not even signals ;)

Home. At last!!!

i could not climb my own stairs!! need a push from Roki. :)

Ruined mass. Broken bones. I generally say i would like to be battered and bruised by the end of the day. May be because it never happened. Now it did!! And i wonder if i would ever want to say that again :)

Bottom line - a most-waited-for, never-to-be-repeated, must-to-be-experienced-atleast-once trip :)
